Camp for hard of hearing or deaf 7-14 year olds, plus leadership program for H.S. teens. Teens in counselor-in-training program help run activities, act as role models, learn leadership skills. Camp open to siblings. $350 covers meals/lodging/activities.



Campus Child Care Connections
Resource/referral network for more than 25 home-care providers who offer childcare in their homes. Maintains waiting list (2-3 yrs. long) for UNR campus childcare center. Helps childcare providers with legal, licensure, training issues.



Cancer Survivors Support Group
Offers 24-hour information to group members; emotional support group meets 6 – 7:30 p.m. Monday nights at The Family Resource Center. Guest speakers, group outings, resources, information and referrals given.



Candlelighters for childhood cancer
Emergency help (defined at time of dx, extended hospital stay, bone marrow transplant or child passing) such as payment of rent/utilities, out-of-state travel expenses and food vouchers. Counseling referrals, scholarships for survivors, library available.



Canine Companions for Independence 
CCI has been training Canine Companions (service, hearing, assisted-service and facility dogs) to help those with disabilities, other than blindness, since 1975. Specially bred dogs learn 50 commands to become physical extensions of their recipients.



Captioned Films for the Deaf 
Provides closed-captioned films for the hearing impaired.



Captioned Media Program
Multi-media borrowing library with English and Spanish products. They mail free open-captioned videos, DVDs and CD Roms, and can do web streaming for those who are hearing impaired.



Care Chest of Sierra Nevada
Free services to those who qualify such as DME; low-interest loans for home/van modifications; RX drug assistance for adults, kids, teens leaving foster care; adult incontinence and other types of medical supplies; referral programs to meet future needs.

Children's Cabinet, Fallon
Contracted with NV State Welfare office to manage childcare subsidy dollars. Act as a resource/referral service for childcare and can help pay for it. Provide training to in-home daycare providers. Help unlicensed providers meet licensure requirements.



Children's Heart Foundation
Helps to fund a summer camp for children with heart disease at no cost to families. Offers a support group; currently creating a family assistance fund to help defray medical costs for families for certain uncovered medical expenses.



Children's Miracle Network
Raises money for children's services at Washoe Medical Center. Recent project was the pediatric unit remodel. They also recently gave $660,000 to the NICU (neonate ICU) and more than $500,000 to the Peds ICU for upgrades.

For-profit geriatric care mgmt. for independent frail elderly and for disabled adults living in the community. Match service needs with existing providers to contain costs. Works with Elder Protective Services, other geriatric-vested agencies.



Community Chest, Inc. 
Nonprofit social service agency formed in part to serve residents, especially children/families of Storey County and greater Nevada. Goal is to build strong, healthy families/communities. Includes Family Services, Project Youth programs.



Community Child Care Services, Inc.
Nonprofit, tax-exempt childcare program that operates under guidance of a volunteer Board of Directors and a qualified and dedicated staff. CCCS provides affordable, quality childcare for children birth to 5 years old. Drop-in respite care also provided. 



Community Choices
Homemaker care - general cleaning, grocery shopping, transportation to doctor appointments, respite, errands and laundry. Attendant care - assistance with bathing and dressing, meal preparation.



Community Food Bank of Clark County
Community Food Bank works in cooperation with other charities. Serving as a major food clearinghouse for businesses with food and goods to donate, Community Food Bank gathers, stores, and distributes food to various charities throughout Southern Nevada who feed the needy.
